Harrell's and GreenSight collaborate to create an all new application planner in TurfCloud

GreenSight Inc. is excited to announce a collaboration with Harrell’s and the addition of a new application planning feature inside TurfCloud.

February 1, 2023 – GreenSight Inc. is excited to announce a collaboration with Harrell’s and the addition of a new application planning feature inside TurfCloud. Users can demo the application planner at the 2023 GCSAA Conference and Tradeshow, formerly known as the Golf Industry Show (GIS), starting on February 4th.

While TurfCloud has been available for several years, the application planner is a new feature, which has been created in collaboration with Harrell’s.

What is TurfCloud?

GreenSight’s TurfCloud is an online platform founded in 2015 to help golf course superintendents manage their turf and teams. The program uses the integration of robotics, AI-driven automated data analysis, and cloud-based planning tools to provide actionable data to decision-makers and day-to-day operators.

Through strategic relationships with Harrell’s and Husqvarna, GreenSight has created TurfCloud to be free for end users. Stephen Ohlson, Vice President of Commercial Turf and Agriculture at GreenSight, says,

"Harrell’s has always been a company that inspires us at GreenSight with their unrivaled commitment to supporting the success of their customers and to the advancement of the turfgrass industry as a whole. We want TurfCloud to be a completely free-to-use platform that challenges the current industry status quo and equips turfgrass professionals with the technology solutions they need to address the day-to-day challenges of a demanding and high-pressure profession. The new application planner in TurfCloud builds upon this goal by providing free access to essential planning tools. It also opens up new and exciting ways that golf course superintendents can benefit from the wealth of knowledge that Harrell’s turfgrass experts offer and can collaborate instantly with Harrell's team members on application plans."

In addition to being available to everyone, another driving goal was that the program be fully integrated. It remains important for superintendents to access all relevant tools within one dashboard, eliminating the need to log into multiple programs to extract and interpret information.

Today, TurfCloud encompasses all facets of turf management, including job assignments, labor management, inventory management, and (now) application planning. TurfCloud users can also choose to integrate hardware like Husqvarna robotic mowers, soil sensors, and drone flights.

TurfCloud Partners with Harrell’s to Create the Application Planner

In 2022, GreenSight partnered with turf industry experts at Harrell’s to build a new application planner within TurfCloud, a vital component of the integration. The GreenSight team collaborated directly with sales and technical leaders from Harrell’s to create a comprehensive application planner with an intuitive interface that keeps the end user’s needs at the forefront. The application planner integrates seamlessly with job assignments and inventory planning, allowing the superintendent to view available stock when planning applications and easily assign the application to crew members. Additionally, spray tank mix lists and inventory reports can be exported or printed directly from the application planner.

The collaboration is rooted in a years-long relationship between GreenSight’s Vice President of Commercial Turf and Agriculture, Stephen Ohlson, and Harrell’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Greg Nicoll. Of the relationship, Nicoll says:

“Time Management is a critical factor for daily efficiency. Turf Cloud’s digital ecosystem provides turf managers with one space to manage multiple facets of their operation, specifically related to tasks, plant health, inventory, and water management. Harrell’s is honored to collaborate with GreenSight on the Application Planner for Turf Cloud. This exciting new feature has been co-developed by the Harrell’s team and will continue to evolve and improve.”

Harrell’s Customers Can Unlock Enhanced Features

Like the rest of the TurfCloud platform, the application planner is free to use. However, Harrell’s customers can unlock advanced features by inviting their Harrell’s rep, also known as their Territory Manager, on the home screen. By inviting a Harrell’s rep, a user gains access to the stock list from their local Harrell’s warehouse, which makes adding products to inventory easier.

A user can also grant their Harrell’s rep access to view information, which allows the pair to collaborate on upcoming applications and future needs. Additionally, Harrell’s Directors of Agronomy can view past and planned applications, as well as soil sensor and drone data, to make informed agronomic recommendations.

In the coming months, Harrell’s customers will also have access to a growing library of research-backed agronomic resources, including Harrell’s Balanced Approach programs, right inside TurfCloud.

For decades, Harrell’s has invested in unbiased university-backed scientific research to create effective and efficient agronomic programs for customers. TurfCloud will make it simpler for customers to implement these vetted programs, and build their own programs, with support from Harrell’s reps and Directors of Agronomy.
